Liquid Rhinoplasty
We all know that the nose is the central part of the face and small changes to it can make huge differences in your appearance. A rhinoplasty, or nasal reshaping surgery, is among the top five most popular cosmetic surgeries performed across the world.
While rhinoplasty is really the gold standard when it comes to nasal reshaping and provides long-lasting results, it may not be for everyone. Oftentimes, the cost and the downtime can be deterrents for patients, not to mention just the fear and anxiety that comes along with any surgery and, especially surgery of the face. Hence the best alternative safe, effective and fast nasal reshaping is by Liquid/Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty.
What is Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty?
You may have heard of nonsurgical rhinoplasty referred to by its nicknames “liquid nose job” or “15-minute nose job.” A non-surgical rhinoplasty is actually a dermal filler procedure to get the best nasal reshape without any downtime, and it will last from 1 year to 3 years, depending on the product and of course your metabolism. That’s why we always suggest consulting our in-house Anti-aging specialist who is certified by American Fellowship for Aesthetic Medicine and anti-aging A4M.
This procedure is ideal for people who are looking to smooth out bumps in their nose or make it look less angular but who aren’t ready for a permanent solution or are worried about the risks and recovery time involved in a traditional rhinoplasty.
Going under the needle is certainly less complicated than going under the knife for a nose job. Nose reshaping was the third most popular surgical cosmetic procedure in the United States in 2019, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. People seek nose jobs for various reasons both aesthetic and functional, from getting rid of the bump on their nose or straightening it to looking to correct breathing problems.
How does it work?
According to Dr. Branka, A non-surgical rhinoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure that involves injecting fillers into the nose to alter its shape, the nostrils or bridge height. She added that a nonsurgical rhinoplasty can accomplish many of the things a surgical procedure can, though the results are temporary.
An injectable ingredient (hyaluronic acid) is inserted in the areas where you wish to create smoother lines or volume. Sometimes Botox & threads are also used depending on case to case.
This can change the look of your nose for anywhere from 12 to 36 months, depending on your skin, your desired results, and the fillers used.
Filler can also be used to modify the tip of the nose, Dr. Branka says “I use filler to inject the tip to make it crisper, turn it up, and make it more refined to provide facial harmony.”
What’s the procedure like?
The procedure for liquid rhinoplasty is fairly simple, especially compared to surgical rhinoplasty.
After a consultation (we are now offering free Aesthetic Consultation) where you discuss your desired results. You may have a topical anaesthetic applied to your nose and the surrounding area so you won’t feel pain from the needle.
After the anaesthetic takes effect, your doctor will inject the filler and reshape your nose. You might feel a slight pinching or pressure while this is done. The whole process can take from 15 minutes or less to 45 minutes.
What to expect after treatment
After liquid rhinoplasty, you may see swelling, and redness where your injection was inserted. Within an hour or two, the injection should start to settle. The redness should start to subside, and you’ll be able to better see your desired results.
Results will be instant, with two weeks the fillers will settle and the redness or bruising should completely subside by then.
As far as downtime, people who swear by liquid rhinoplasty love that there’s practically no recovery time. You can be back to work and your normal activities the very same day.
What if you don’t like the result?
One of the benefits of non-surgical rhinoplasty is that if you are not satisfied or happy with the results, it can be removed by an injection of an enzyme that dissolves the filler and you’re back to where you started.”
The enzyme used to dissolve hyaluronic acid fillers is called hyaluronidase; if the fillers used were not hyaluronic acid-based, this enzyme will not break them down, that’s the reason at 7DMC Aesthetic clinic we always use the best products which DHA & FDA approved.
